Care of the environment is important to Speedy Car Wash.
Speedy has large underground reclaim tanks where wash water is drained for our treatment, so it can be reused wherever possible at our facilities. We are able to recycle 65 to 70% of our water, and we are always looking for ways to improve upon that number to preserve and protect our water resources.
We generate the spot free rinse water on site. It takes two parts water to make one part of spot free rinse water. The water that is leftover from making the spot free doesn't go to waste. It is also used in our operations. Many car washes do not reclaim this water and it is disposed of unnecessarily.
Speedy's wastewater is responsibly deposited into the county wastewater system so it can be carried to the treatment plant, keeping it out of the storm sewer and our fragile watershed. Our Earth friendly soaps are easily broken down leaving little impact.
Many people like to wash their vehicles at home and may not consider the potential harm to the environment. While washing, it's easy to neglect to turn off the water valve leaving water pouring down the driveway. Besides all of the water that is wasted, it carries with it whatever solvents are being used to wash the vehicle. This runoff then contaminates whatever is in its path including groundwater, streams, lakes and rivers.
We like to say you can wash guilt free at Speedy. We conserve where possible and responsibly dispose the rest.
Speedy Car Wash is a proud participant in the WaterSavers program, an industry group sponsored by the International Car Wash Association.
